EROSION-THOUSAND FLIES OF UNADULTERATED BLISS

Kit Schluter’s Erosion-Thousand Flies of Unadulterated Bliss is an oddity in the Cryptid catalogue. While every other published text was submitted to the press directly by an interested author, the publication of EROSION-THOUSAND was the result of Andrew Murphy propositioning Schluter over Twitter in 2020. Schluter, an extremely talented translator, graphic designer, and poet, had originally published the text through Tamas Panitz’ Blazing Stadium, in a digital edition under the paizonym Camille Pluto.

Issues with funding, the exile and return of Murphy, and conflicting schedules delayed its publication, which was finally realized in the summer of 2022, when Ed Suerr had briefly taken over the chief editorship position at the press. Suerr had reemployed Andrew Murphy as a liaison and consultant, before the collapse of Suerr’s father’s investment firm necessitated the sale of the press. Murphy and Schluter worked together during this period of flux to promote the book and fulfill orders, until the press was finally sold to Klepht Press in July of 2023.
